Bible Study currently meets at Laurel Lake Retirement Community on Monday mornings at 8:00am to look at the Gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday. Everyone is welcome.
This rhythm helps participants arrive at Sunday worship already listening for the Word, with questions, insights, and prayerful attention.
African Bible Study method
The existing site highlights the African or Lambeth Bible Study method, a prayerful way of reading Scripture in community. The pattern includes reading slowly, noticing a word or phrase, sharing without discussion, reading again, connecting the passage to life today, and listening for what God may be inviting each person to do or become.
Why it works
This method helps Scripture move from page to life. It creates space for listening rather than debating and lets people hear how God may be speaking through the same passage in different lives.
